The Willow Tree Cafe
              
                                                                    
Sanford, Florida is an up and coming small town just north of Orlando. In recent years they have given their downtown area a much needed face lift with a charming "river walk" area and park.  Restaurants, antique stores and art galleries moved in to make it truly quaint and enjoyable. All of that is great, but the reason we go to Sanford these days is The Willow Tree Cafe. 

I can't tell you whether or not it is an authentic German  restaurant, never having been to Germany. Epcot doesn't count does it? But it is everything I imagine a German restaurant to be. Is there an oompah band dressed in Tyrolean wear?  Why yes, there is!
               
             

  Is there a great selection of German beer including my favorite dopplebock?  You bet!  "Ticky Tocky Ticky Tocky Hoy! Hoy! Hoy!

           
                                                 
Are there plenty of meat dishes on the menu?  Well, this isn't a good place for a vegetarian.  I didn't photograph the meat.  You'll just have to take my word for it.  There were all varieties of meat including several different kinds of sausages, sauerkraut, schnitzels and spaetzels. The well prepared food is the perfect backdrop for the beer, which, lets face it, is why we make the trip.
